About: La ilaha Ila Allah.
I don't know how to begin...but I know what I want. I want to live a life that breathes Islam, that takes me to Jannat Al firdos. I want to memorize the Qur'an. Be like umahat al mu'mineen. I want to spread the beauty of Islam, to every corner of the world. Oh ya Allah. I want to feed the the children of Africa, teach the children of India, fly kites with the children of Afghanistan, stop child labor in Bangladesh, and free the children of Gaza. I want to learn my rights as a Muslimah, & teach other women. I want to make an impact on the world. I.want.justice. Oh ya Allah. I want to write and express my feelings and thoughts, and let the world know that anything is possible. Oh ya Allah. I want to travel. I want to taste the different foods in the world. I want to paint. I want to have a family. I want to put a smile on a sad face. I want to do all that I want. But in the end, no matter what I want, or what I plan; Allah swt has the best & final plan. Oh ya A l l a h.

haakym:

It was narrated that Abu Lubaabah ibn ‘Abd al-Mundhir said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“Friday is the master of days, and the greatest of them before Allaah. It is greater before Allaah than the day of al-Adha and the day of al-Fitr. It has five characteristics: on this day Allaah created Adam, on it He sent Adam down to the earth, on it Allaah caused Adam to die, on it there is a time when a person does not ask Allaah for anything but He gives it to him, so long as he does not ask for anything haraam, and on it the Hour will begin. There is no angel who is close to Allaah, no heaven, no earth, no wind, no mountain and no sea that does not fear Friday.”

[Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 1084; classed as hasan by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, no. 2279]

Things aren’t always as they seem. The Mother of Musa (Alayhi Salam) Umm Musa was told to throw her son in the river, Yusuf (Alayhi Salam) was left for dead in a well, Maryam (radiallahu anha) delivered a child alone, Aisha (radiallahu anha) was accused of a terrible sin, Yunus (Alayhi Salam) was swallowed by a whale, Ibrahim (alayhi salam) was thrown in the fire, Muhammad (Salalahu Alayhi wa Salam) lost the love of his life Khadija (radiallahu anha), and Umm Salamah (radiallahu anha) thought no one could be better than Abu Salamah (radiallahu anhu); Yet look at how it turned out for them in the end. So don’t worry, Allah has a plan for you. — Unknown (via quranicverses)

According to a hadith narrated by Aṭ-Ṭabaraani in Al-Awsaṭ, Abu Na’aam in Al-Ḥilyah, Al-Ḥaakim in Al-Mustadrak and others, ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه‎) reported: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

 أَتاني جِبْرِيلُ فَقَالَ

Jibreel (Gabriel) came to me and said,

“O Muhammad, live as long as you lie, for you are going to die.

Love whomever you want for you are going to leave them.

Do whatever you want, for you are going to be requited for it.

Know that the honour of the believer is his standing in prayer at night,

and his pride is in his independence from the people.””

Knowledge: Donia vs. Deen.

selhattab:

I say, no doubt, the Muslims are certainly in need of [learning about] medicine and engineering, after we have learned what is obligatory upon us to learn about al-Islaam. This is because knowledge is [two types]: individual knowledge and communal knowledge…

Individual knowledge is the knowledge that every Muslim must know. There are facts about Islam that every person must know. Then, after that, there is communal knowledge: knowledge that a sufficient number of Muslims must take on the responsibility of learning.

Some examples of communal knowledge are learning medicine, engineering, chemistry, etc. Learning these fields or professions is communal knowledge, and  whoever learns them desiring to service the Muslims and al-Islaam, [he has rendered an admirable service]. However, there are those who possibly learn these things only to obtain a profession, and it is possible that he does not connect them to al-Islaam.

So, it is upon all Muslims to associate this knowledge with al-Islaam and to produce a benefit for the Muslims. He reminds himself that the Muslims are in need of doctors, so he says: ‘I desire to fill a void and free the Muslims from being in need of a Jew, Christian, communist, or a secularist.’ Possessing this type of intention, maa shaa Allah, will, in shaa Allah, make his actions worship and a way of drawing nearer to Allah.

The same can be said about engineering, chemistry, farming, economics, and whatever else he learns with the good intention of filling a void [of the Muslims] and fulfilling the obligation of communal knowledge. This is an action that he is applauded for, in shaa Allah. (2)

Nevertheless, be extremely cautious of not having noble goals when learning, even when it pertains to the knowledge Muhammad, may Allah exalt his mention and grant him safety, came with. And I believe I have slightly alluded to this point in what has preceded. I always mention this when these affairs are brought up. I mention that we are in need of Muslims to learn these things, and that they are necessary.

Intention.

selhattab:

Ibn Mas’ud (RA) would advise his students,

If your intention is one of these three, do not seek knowledge: To shame the ignorant, or to argue with the Fuqahaa’ (scholars), or to cause people to turn their faces in your direction. Intend with your actions and words that which is with Allaah, for indeed that which is with Allaah shall remain and everything else shall perish.”

Beware of the Bandit

knowledgeprecedes:

Shaykhul -Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) said:

“Every time a person wants to turn his heart to Allah, whispers of other matters come to him. The Shaytan is like a bandit, every time a person wants to travel towards Allah, he wants to intercept him. Hence it was said to one of the salaf, ’ the Jews and the Christians say, we don’t experience waswas (whispers). He replied, ‘They are right ! What would Shaytan do with a ruined house?’ “

Bakhoor is a Sudanese incense. In Sudan you can visit places like this one and ask for wood. This man makes a living out of cutting wood and selling it to people. You purchase the wood, add desired scent and place it on a mubakhar with charcoal to entice the smell.
